Continuing the trend of low budget films, yet another project titled Seetaramuni Kosam has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:-

Vikranth(Sarath Srerangm) is a parapsychologist who comes to know that his new villa is haunted by evil spirits. Upon reaching the villa, he comes across the two spirits of Seetha(Karunya Chowdary) and her daughter. Who are these mother-daughter spirits? what is their past? and how does Vikranth deal with all this? That forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:-

The biggest asset of the film is the last thirty minutes. This is the time when the flashback related to Seetha is narrated in a very emotional and gripping manner. The way the film is ended on a unique note is interesting.

Sarath, who played the parapsychologist does well in his crucial role. Karunya Chowdary is very impressive as Seetha. The way she showcases superb emotions with her husband played by director Anil is pretty impressive and is good to watch during the crunch emotional moments.

Minus Points:-

The film kicks off on a very dull note. There is nothing new to rave about during this time as the horror scenes relating to the evil spirit are showcased in a dull manner.

The director takes a lot of time to enter its main character. Because of this, the proceedings become quite slow and outdated. Except for the last half an hour, the way the rest of the film is written reminds us of many routine thrillers.

Tagubothu Ramesh’s comedy track is outright silly and has no meaning at all. An item song which comes during the crunch time in the second half deviates the attention of the audience.

Technical Aspects:-

Cameraman Jaipal Reddy’s work is very impressive as he had a limited space to showcase his talent. Music for two songs and the background score were impressive. Editing is adequate and so were the production values. Coming to the director Anil, he has done an okay job with the film. After narrating the film on a disappointing note during the beginning, he makes things quite interesting during the last half an hour and ends the film on a very impressive note.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Seetaramuni Kosam is a passable thriller which has some decent moments during the last half an hour. Good performances by the lead cast and interesting climax are basic assets. On the flipside, the routine storyline and boring first half can get to you at times. If you manage to sit through this routine narration, you will end up liking what follows in the end. Watch it if you have nothing else to do.
