Lavanya and Sudhakar were cousins studying in TRR engineering college in the City. Sudhakar over a period of time fell in love with Lavanya and proposed to her a few days back. The girl rejected him outright. An enraged Sudhakar attacked Lavanya and injured her greviously at around 10:00 AM today. A severely bleeding and traumatised Lavanya was admitted into Yashoda hospital and is struggling for her life. Sudhakar, according to reports emerging in, has surrendered.In the past month alone, media has highlighted at least 7 cases of enraged men attacking helpless girls in the name of love. Yet, our government with a lady as a home minister is still to frame a policy that will deter repeat of such occurences.
