The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is all set to appease the rain God by performing `Astottara Satakundatmaka Maha Varuna yagam' in Hyderabad from July 2 to 4.
According to TTD executive officer (EO) IYR Krishna Rao, the yagam will be performed to get bountiful rains for the prosperity of the state. The three-day Varuna yagam would be performed at the Exhibition grounds in the state capital. Apart from 108 `homagundas' and seven `agnigundas,' hundreds of priests would be chanting `Varunagayatri' mantra to appease the rain God.
The richest religious corporate had performed similar yagams in the state, earlier. This time many other temples are also performing Varuna yagams in the wake of the monsoon playing hide and seek in the state.
