Blade Babji is that kind of a flick where you leave your logic at home to sit back, laugh and walk out fully entertained after 3 hours. With an impressive line-up of comedians from Tollywood, Blade Babji manages to tickle your funny bone with its slapstick situational comedy which works despite a thin storyline which has gaping holes in it.

What is it about:Blade Babji (Allari Naresh) and his friends are a bunch of conmen in Rajamundry who steal from the rich to give to the poor. This robinhood attitude takes them to Vizag where they need to steal 4 crores to save their neighborhood from being demolished. After a successful robbery, they are forced to hide the money for a couple of weeks in a building which ends up as the police control room. Blade Babji takes on the role of Inspector Krishna Manohar to get inside the control room and bring out the loot. As expected this leads to a series of comical situations & coincidences & many twists and turns before everything ends well in an overdrawn climax. Archana (Sayali Bhagat) who is the commissioner’s daughter plays Blade Babji’s love interest in all this confusion.

What is Good: Allari Naresh gets a meaty role which taps his comic talent and he puts on an impressive show. He is very ably supported by rest of the senior comedians like Brahmanandam and Venu Madhav. The highlight of the movie were the one-liners and the comic situations that were well-liked by the audience. The spoof of “Inspector Krishna Manohar” from Pokiri as well scenes from Pawan Kalyan movies was well done. The movie moves at a quick pace and the songs came in at the right intervals. All the songs with their extremely colorful costumes seemed to have a Raghavendra Rao feel to them.

What is bad:Nothing much really… the classes might find the comedy too loud and farcical. The music could have been more melodious instead of all fast-paced songs. Sayali Bhagat managed all through with just two expressions and some bad dubbing!!!

Me Thinks: This is a total time-pass movie if you are the type who likes comic masala movies. This seems to be the best option from the other movies that released this week

Tailpiece: Unfortunately, like in the other release of the week “Hero”, the portrayal of police force is not very intelligent…most of the cops in the movie are busy with their own personal work instead of policing!!!
