The audio launch of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ took place recently and the songs are now out in the market. Raghu Kunche scored the music for this movie. Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and Ileana are playing the lead roles and Puri Jagan is the director. Let us see how the album is.
1, Song: Subba Lakshmi
Singers: Raghu Kunche
Lyrics : Bhaskarabhatla
Subba Lakshmi is an addictive track that will become very popular among all sections of the audience. The song has a very rustic feel and it is rendered with great energy by Raghu Kunche. Music is a nice mix of Indian and western beats and it complements the lyrics very well. Bhaskara has penned the lyrics and he has done a good job. Thumbs up for this song.
2.Song: Nuvvele Nuvvele
Singers: Shreya Goshal
Lyrics : Bhaskarabhatla
Shreya Goshal renders this melodious number beautifully and with a lot of emotion. Bhaskarabhatla has penned some very soulful lyrics for this number and they are used to great effect by Shreya. The song is very soothing to listen to and Raghu Kunche’s soft musical score is one of the reasons for this. This number will probably be shot on an emotional Ileana and with good visuals, the overall experience will be very rewarding. Excellent number overall.
3.Song: Disturb Chesthannade
Singers: Suchitra
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla
When it is a Puri Jagan film, movie lovers naturally expect a rocking item number and they will not be disappointed with ‘Disturb Chesthannade’. The song has terrific appeal and it is rendered very effectively by Suchitra. With a very slight hint of huskiness, Suchitra’s vocals elevate this number considerably and Bhaskarabhatla’s lyrics are perfect for the occasion, with a little raunchiness. Raghu Kunche’s music, which is a mix of western beats and traditional percussion instrument sounds, manages to do the job convincingly.Gabriele Bertante will sizzle in this number, so expect it to be a runaway hit.
4.Song: Yemi Sethura
Singers: Udit Narayan, Chinmayee
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla
This is a modern interpretation of a classic Balamuralikrishna composition and Bhaskarabhatla replaces the devotional lyrics with soul stirring words that accuse God of ignoring orphaned children. Udit Narayan and Chinmayee do a decent job with the vocals and it will be interesting to see how this song has been picturized. Musical score is not exactly what one would expect for a song of this nature.
5.Song: Nuvvantey Chala
Singers: Adnan Sami, Joanna
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla
This foot tapping duet has good pace and is very easy to like. Adnan Sami’s vocals carry good energy and his performance is excellent as always. The ‘pallavi’ of the song is sung in different languages and the way Joanna matches Adnan Sami’s vocals, in the corresponding language, is very nice. Lyrics act as fillers and they are ok. Raghu Kunche’s music does the job. Overall, a pretty good number to listen to.
6.Song : Devuda Devuda
Singers: Raghu Kunche, Anjana Soumya
Lyrics : Bhaskarabhatla
This is an ultra mass number that is aimed straight at the front benchers. Expect a very mass picturization for the song and some high energy steps from Ravi Teja. Raghu Kunche and Anjana Soumya’s performance with the vocals is ok. Bhaskarabhatla’s lyrics act as mere fillers. Music is very ordinary and there is nothing special from Raghu Kunche for this number. The song may work if the visuals are good.
Verdict :
The audio album of ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ has ‘mass masala entertainer’ written all over it. The album has four sure shot winners – ‘Subba Lakshmi’ , ‘Nuvvele Nuvvele’, ‘Disturb Chesthannade’ and ‘Nuvvante Chala’ are my picks and they have been composed very entertainingly by Raghu Kunche. These songs will strike a chord with movie lovers across all segments.
Add Puri Jagan’s picturization and Ravi Teja’s energy to the numbers and you can safely expect a very entertaining treat. Bhaskarabhatla has given some nice lyrics for this album and he has justified his single card lyricist status for this movie. ‘Subba Lakshmi’, here I come…..
