Young Hero Prince, who scored hits with ‘Bus Stop’ and ‘Romance’, is going to test his luck yet again with the film ‘Manasunu Maaya Seyake’. The movie has released today in Andhra Pradesh. Sethu, Richa Panai and Disha Pande have essayed the other lead roles in this movie. Suresh P Kumar is the director. Let us see if this movie is worth a watch.

Story :

Jai (Sethu) is the MD of a very big real estate firm. Mythili (Richa Panai) is Jai’s wife and they do not have a very good relationship. Jai has three other partners in the company, and they do not have very good reputations.

On a separate note, Shiva (Prince) is a wildlife photographer. He comes across Lasya (Disha Pandey) and falls in love with her. Lasya happens to work in Jai’s company and Shiva tries to become acquainted with Disha.

Just when the love story is about to take off, something shocking happens to Lasya and this infuriates Shiva. He seeks revenge against the three partners who are a part of Jai’s company. Instead of committing the crimes directly, Shiva decides to use Jai for this purpose. He blackmails Jai and forces him to kill off the three partners, one by one.

Why does Shiva do that? Why does Jai listen to him? That is the story of ‘Manasunu Maya Seyake’.

Plus Points :

The second half of the movie is slightly better, when compared to the first. There are some scenes where the suspense element has been maintained well. Prince has a good character in this movie and he has done justice to his role. Disha Pandey looks good and she has done an ok job.

The movie has been shot in some very nice locations.

Minus Points :

Sethu is a big liability for this movie. Jai’s character is quite crucial for the film but Sethu has not done justice to that role. The first half of the film is a big minus, as virtually nothing happens in this part. The story does not move forward and the poor screenplay makes things worse.

There are some logical loopholes in the story. The emotional aspects of the story have not been established correctly.

Many scenes have been carried over from the Tamil version of the movie. As a result, lip sync has gone for a toss and the nativity factor is missing. The film is also a tad too long, especially towards the climax.

Entertainment quotient in the film is very low.

Technical Aspects :

For a small budget film, cinematography is surprisingly good . Some nice locations have been chosen for the songs and the cinematographer captured these quite well. Background score is good, but it was overdone in some scenes.

Editing is very poor. Screenplay and direction are not up to the mark. The director could not effectively hold the interest of the viewers.

Verdict :

‘Manasunu Maya Seyake’ is a boring film. A poor first half, lack of entertainment and Tamil flavour spoil the viewing experience. Prince has tried his best, but he does not have the stature to elevate a poor film. The film can be safely avoided
