Family hero Srikanth, Superstar Krishna, Charme and Manjula are the principal actors in the film ‘Sevakudu’. The movie was supposed to release almost a year ago, but it could not release due to certain financial difficulties. The movie was supposed to release yesterday, but financial issues once again delayed the release by a day. Samudra is the director of this movie. Let us see how ‘Sevakudu’ is.

Story :

Ramachandrayya (Nasser) is a sincere police officer who places duty and profession ahead of family. He wants his son Surya (Srikanth) to be a police officer but Surya is not interested. He wants to go to the US and settle down there. Meanwhile, Krishna Prasad (Krishna) is a very rich NRI who wants to come back to India and do something good for his homeland. He tries to invest all that money here to improve the lives of people.

This is opposed by goons like Balaram Jadoo (Pradeep Rawat). Balaram gets Krishna Prasad killed and Ramachandrayya also loses his life in this attack. It is now up to Surya and Krishna Prasad’s daughter Manjula (Manjula) to avenge their deaths.

How they go about it and what challenges they face forms the story of ‘Sevakudu’.

Plus Points :

This movie is supposed to be Superstar Krishna’s last screen appearance and he has done maximum justice to his scenes. Srikanth’s performance is decent and he looks macho as a cop.

Nasser has a good role in the film and his performance is classy. Manjula’s performance is neat.

The first half has some comedy and narration is fast paced. Interval block has been conceived well. Brahmanandam did a decent job.

Minus Points :

The movie suffers from poor execution. The concept is novel but the director should have done some homework on screenplay. Will the President and Prime Minister agree to handover the city of Vijayawada on an unconditional lease for 3 months? Such silly points spoil the experience.

Charme does not have anything to do in the movie except to provide some glamour.

Many scenes and dialogues remind you of Mahesh Babu’s ‘Businessman’ and this leads to predictability.

Srikanth’s behaviour as a ‘No Judgement. Only Punishment’ cop is highly unrealistic and his character should have been written with more care.

The second half of the film is a big disappointment and is no match for the first half.

Technical Aspects :

Cinematography is ok. Editing is ok in the first half but it could have been much better in the second half. Srikanth Deva’s background music is decent. Dialogues are ok.

Samudra’s direction is good in the first half but leaves a lot to be desired in the second half.

Verdict :

Sevakudu ends up as a disappointment. The movie has a good concept but it is let down by poor execution and its similarity to Mahesh Babu’s ‘Businessman’. Srikanth, Superstar Krishna and Nasser have given very good performances in this movie. But a lackluster second half and bad screenplay spoil the movie.
