Young hero Naga Shourya, is trying hard to give a hit in his career. His latest presentation is Abbaitho Ammayi which has Palak Lalwani as the female lead. The film has opened all over today and let’s see how it turns out to be.

Story:-

Abhi(Naga Shourya) is a desperate youth who wants to have fun in life. He is addicted to various social networking sites and always looks for reasons to flirt with girls. During his search, he comes across a simple girl and becomes good friends with her.

This is also the time when he falls for Prardhana(Palak Lalwaani) and starts getting close to her. Twist in the tale arises when Abhi gets caught in an uncompromising situation in Prardhana’s house. Hell breaks loose as both the families of the couple disown them for good.

Left clueless, Abhi leaves Pradhana alone in this tricky situation. He gets yet another shock of his life when he comes to know that his close online friend is none other than Prardhana. Rest of the story is as to how Abhi gets his deeds right and wins his love back.

Plus Points:-

Story of the film is pretty good and is set in quite a contemporary way. Naga Shourya looks good and performs well in his character. He is especially good in all the emotional scenes in the film.

But it is Palak Lalwani who walks away with the cake. She looks beautiful and gives a splendid performance in the film. She had a very tough role to portray and she performs with a lot of ease and sincerity.

The emotional bond that is showcased between Naga Shourya and his parents has been handled well. Veteran actor Mohan is good in his role and brings a lot of depth to the film. Rao Ramesh is superb in his negative role. The friendship which is showcased between Naga Shourya and Palak has been executed well.

Minus Points:-

One of the biggest drawbacks of the film is the lack of clarity. Even though the story idea is good, the makers have failed to elevate and narrate certain aspects in a proper way. Hero’s behavior after his break up and the way he goes about things leaves a lot to be desired.

Too much of melodrama at certain points create a bad impact on the film. Pragathi’s character of a step mom is not written well. Had the makers etched out certain roles well, the output would have been even better.

Rao Ramesh’ transformation during the second half looks out of place. Songs are major hindrance in the film. Right when you think the film is about to get over, a song breaks out and gets on to your nerves.

Technical Aspects:-

Abbaitho Ammai is quite good in the technical department. Camera work is top notch and the way different angles and frames have been set up is superb. Visuals and production values are top notch and showcase the film in a colorful note. Dialogues are just about ok and so is the back ground score. Ilayaraja’s music is pretty decent but at least two songs could have been edited out easily.

Coming to the director Ramesh Varma, his story idea is good but the way he has executed the film is a bit below par. But what’s good in his direction is that the way he has added mature emotions during the second part and climax.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Abbaitho Ammayi is a film which has some interesting moments going its way. Contemporary story line and heartful emotions are basic assets. On the flip side, a lack luster screenplay and excessive songs spoil the mood a bit. The youth might find a liking for this film but for the rest it ends up an average affair this week.
