Nikhil and Sarah Sharma have teamed up together for the movie ‘Disco’. Hari K Chaduri is the director of this movie and the film has been produced by Ramalinga Reddy and Abhinav Reddy jointly. The movie has released today so let us see how it is.

Story :

Disco (Nikhil) is an orphan and he has three friends (Khayyum, Vijay Sai and Happy Days Paidithalli). He is a carefree guy who always gets his friends into trouble with his pranks and schemes. He falls in love with Shiny(Sara Sharma) and he travels to Bangkok in search of her. It is revealed that Shiny is the daughter of a local Don (Ashish Vidyarthi) and things become more complicated from that instant.

Just when Disco seems to have won over the affection of Shiny, the story takes a twist and it is now a question of whether Disco chooses love over friendship. What happens next? What will Disco do to salvage his love? That forms the story.

Plus Points :

M.S.Narayana’s cameo as Surya Bhai is hilarious. The spoof on Mahesh Babu’s character in Businessman has come out well due to the sheer brilliance of M.S.Narayana and it is one of the very few positive points in the movie. Ali is good in his role and he comes in only during the second half.

Raghu Babu tries to liven up the proceedings but he is only partially successful. Few spoofs on famous TV Commercials are ok.

Minus Points :

Script and screenplay are non-existent in this ‘film’ and narration is a disaster. There is absolutely zero logic in the proceedings and you literally start praying for something better to come. Atrocious direction and poor performances from all the lead actors make the film tough to watch. Nikhil goes completely overboard and he tries to imitate Pawan Kalyan and Ravi Teja, but it does not work out. His dialogues, fights and scenes do not gel with his image and market. Sarah Sharma is not heroine material and one wonders how she was selected. Her acting skills are virtually non-existent.

Comedy is extremely cheap and most of the scenes do not make you laugh. Ashish Vidyarthi is wasted in a poorly etched role. Same goes for Jeeva. The romantic track is extremely superficial and there is no chemistry between the actors. People start getting sentimental and melodramatic without proper reason every now and then. The story keeps moving around in circles with foolish ‘twists’ in the second half and the narration will test the patience of the viewers. The film is very long.

Climax is atrocious and there is no proper explanation about why Ashish Vidhyarthi has a sudden change of heart. There are so many other flaws in the movie that cannot be listed here in the interests of time and space.

Technical Aspects :

Re-recording work is very poor and this is especially evident during the songs.Anand’s music is not impressive. Editing is very bad and there is no smooth flow in the proceedings. Dialogues are ok in places but bad most of the time. Cinematography is alright.

Hari Chanduri’s direction is very poor.

Verdict :

Disco is a safely avoidable flick. Poor performances, bad direction and silly scenes will test the limits of your patience. The long run time and foolish narration only make things worse. Stay away from this movie unless you want to watch something that is embarrassingly bad.
