Suhas has been making waves with his performances in films like Colour Photo, HIT 2, and Writer Padmabhushan. He is now ready to entertain the audience with his upcoming movie “Ambajipeta Marriage Band.” The film was produced jointly by GA2 Pictures and director Venkatesh Maha’s Mahayana Motion Pictures. The movie is also coming under the banner of Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment. Directed by Dushyanth Katikineni, it stars Shivani Nagaram in the female lead role. Ahead of the release on Friday, Suhas interacted with the media, and here is the transcript.

How confident are you about the Ambajipeta Marriage Band?

Last year, I had good success with Writer Padmabhusan. It was released in February, and now Ambajipeta Marriage Band is also coming in the same month. We learned to play band for many days. I even shaved my head twice. We believe and hope that two years of hard work will yield good results in the form of success. We shot in Amalapuram and Ambajipet, areas I am familiar with due to the atmosphere and the slang. Believing in the story, I agreed to shave my head.

Is the film based on oppression and caste?

Although the word caste is mentioned in the Ambajipeta Marriage Band, the movie’s actual theme is not caste. The main point is about the barriers created by ego between two people. Sharanya and I are twins in the film. The events that happen on our birthday form the crux of the story. Audiences will imagine themselves in most of the scenes. Dushyanth and Venkatesh Maha are great friends. Dushyanth liked the story and approached Venkatesh, Dheeraj, and Geetha Arts to initiate the project.

Could you tell us about the leading lady and villain?

Shivani Nagaram will earn a good name after the release. Her performance is pretty impressive. She is also a dancer and singer. Nithiin, who portrayed the villain, will also gain significant recognition from this film. He is a Malayali. But he learned Telugu and pulled off the Amalapuram dialect with ease.

Why did you opt for paid premiers?

Writer Padmabhushan got a solid boost due to premiers. Positive talk was generated from premiers, which helped our film earn good revenues. Premieres are crucial for my movies. If early viewers like it, word of mouth spreads, making others book tickets and go to the theaters. For actors like me, the response to premieres is very important.

What kind of roles and films would you like to do?

I am selecting concepts that are new and different from the types of stories I have done before. I prefer to be known as an actor rather than just a hero. After my role as a villain in ‘Hit 2’, I received many similar offers, but I want to continue as a hero. It seems that I’ll fit into more diverse characters when I get a bit older. Right now, my youthful appearance limits the variety of roles I can take on.

Could you tell us about your future projects?

Sandeep is planning a film with me, and the story he told me is next level. I did a movie called ‘Prasannavadanam’ with Sukumar’s associate, which has already been completed. I am also working on another movie called ‘Cable Reddy.’ A film under the banner of Dil Raju with Salaar dialogue writer is also on the cards.
