Natural Star Nani is presenting the courtroom drama Court – State Vs A Nobody under Wall Poster Cinema. Starring Priyadarshi in the lead role, the film is directed by Ram Jagadeesh and is set to release on March 14, 2025. On this occasion, we had a brief conversation with the director.

What inspired you to make this story?

This film is based on the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. I came across a real-life case that shocked me, and after researching more, I found that hundreds of such cases exist in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. I read several case files and combined various elements to create a fictional story that reflects real-life incidents. I also studied the POCSO Act in detail and consulted legal experts to ensure authenticity.

How was the experience narrating the story to Nani?

I waited for nearly eight months to narrate the story to Nani garu. When I finally got the chance, he listened to the entire two-and-a-half-hour narration in one sitting. At the end, he stood up, shook my hand, and said, “Welcome to Wall Poster Cinema.” That was a memorable moment in my life.

What makes this courtroom drama unique?

Unlike regular courtroom dramas, this film blends a love story with legal proceedings. The combination of emotions and law makes it stand out from other films in this genre.

How significant is the POCSO Act in the film?

The POCSO Act plays a crucial role in the story. Many people don’t know much about it, so I wanted to bring awareness through the film.

Tell us about Roshan and Sridevi’s characters

Roshan, who plays Chandu, was selected quickly and showed great dedication. However, finding the right actress for Jabilli was challenging. We wanted a fresh Telugu-speaking actress with good acting skills. After a long search, we found her through an Instagram profile, and she fit the role perfectly.

How did Priyadarshi get on board?

Priyadarshi was the first person I told about this story. As soon as he heard it, he said, “I will do this movie. Don’t tell anyone else.” We share a close bond, which made the collaboration even more special. After watching the movie, he said, “Proud of you, Jagadeesh.” His confidence in the film comes from the strength of the story itself.

What can you tell us about Shivaji’s character?
Shivaji garu plays Mangapathi, a character that represents how people react to sensitive issues in real life. His role will feel very relatable to audiences.

How is the film technically?

From the beginning, we aimed for high technical standards. Vijay, who composed the music, has done an exceptional job. He proved his talent once again after Baby.

How was the support from the production team?

Deepti garu managed everything perfectly, ensuring the film was completed smoothly and on time. Working with Wall Poster Cinema has been a great experience.
