Lavanya Tripathi is super high with the success of A1 Express. She is ready with a new film called Chaavu Kaburu Challaga that will be out next week. On this occasion, we had an exclusive interview with her. Here is the transcript.
How elated are you with the success of A1 Express?
I am super happy with the success as we worked hard on this film. The audience has loved our film but I hardly got time to enjoy the success as I was busy with Chaavu Kaburu Challaga.
How did you bag this offer?
As I have done two films in Geetha Arts, I was in touch with producer Bunny Vas. During the scripting itself, he told me that he has something interesting for me. The moment I heard the script, I decided I should do this film at any cost. It is the best script of my career.
Tell us about your role?
I play Mallika, a widow from Vizag who has her own set of problems. How a crazy guy falls in love with her and things change is the story. I worked hard on this film and clearly remember the interval scene, it was lengthy and shot in a single take. It was so difficult to get the scene right.
About the de-glam look?
I feel that girls who are de-glam are the most natural. As I play a girl from the coastal area in Vizag, we gave Mallika a de-glam look. Performance-wise too, it took me two days to get into this intense role which had a lot of variations. We had to use extensive makeup to make me look three shades darker.
How was it working with Karthikeya?
The moment I knew Kathrikeya was working on this film, I felt happy as he is the perfect choice for this film. He looks serious but Karhtikeya is a very funny man in real life. It is hard to keep a straight face in front of him.
Working with the likes of Amani?
She is such a sweetheart and a genuine soul. She speaks less but once she opens up, mam is a gem of a person. Her performance is one of the highlights of the film.
Working with a new director like Koushik?
He is a very talented guy who will go a long way in his career. He has an utmost grip on the emotions and narrated the film with good comedy, romance, and twists. I loved working with him.
A word about Geetha Arts?
From the day, this project was announced, I was super confident that this film will be a super hit. Geetha Arts are like my home banner and when they make a film, it is made with utmost care. They have given full freedom to the director and are promoting the film in a special manner.
You have been around for a long time in Tollywood. How do you feel?
I am so happy that things are getting better for me. Post the lockdown, I have two releases, and what more do I want. Tollywood is leading the way with big films. The other day, my mom called me and said that she is very happy that I chose the Telugu cinema to make my debut years back. It was a very proud moment for me.
Future projects?
Once Chaavu Kaburu Challaga releases, I will announce my new film. I am listening to multiple scripts as of now.
With that, we ended our interview and wished Lavanya the best of luck for her film and career in general.
