Interview : Krithi Shetty – It was hard to match up Ram’s energy

The Warriorr is up for a release on the 14th of this month. On this occasion, we caught up with the film’s heroine, Krithi Shetty for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

Your reaction after bagging this film?

I have always loved Lingusamy’s films and have watched Awara a number of times already. I love his style of making which also has scope for the heroine to perform. When I got his call, I was super excited and after hearing the script, I said okay to the film right away.

Did you ever imagine that Bullet song would be such a big hit?

Yes, I had a feeling that this song will click big time. During the start of the shoot, I was very nervous as to how I would match the energy of Ram. But once the shoot started, everything fell into place and as I love dancing, I thoroughly enjoyed the steps.

Tell us about your role in the film?

I play an RJ called Whistle Mahalakshmi who is a girl next door. She is modern and is yet quite simple in her approach. The way Lingusamy sir showcased me was quite good in the film.

Working experience with the likes of Ram?

He is a livewire and is filled with positive energy. We both have some fun scenes in the film and I had a ball shooting with Ram. He is a superstar and has played the cop’s role quite impressively.

Working with a senior director like Lingusamy?

He has a different school of filmmaking. Sir is very clear about what he wants from his actors. He even emotes and shows us how to perform in front of the camera. Working with him has been a learning experience.

The Warrior is your Tamil debut. Tell us about it?

Post-Uppena, I received a lot of love from the Tamil audience. This film is quite crucial for me in terms of my entry into Tamil cinema and I am hoping that the Tamil audience will support me in the future as well.

Future Projects?

I have signed Chay Akkineni’s film with Venkat Prabhu and have also okayed a biggie with Suriya sir which I am super excited about.
