Superstar Mahesh Babu-AR Murugadoss’ highly-anticipated flick, SPYder, is all set for a grand release on September 27th. On this occasion, we had a detailed interview with Mahesh. Here is the transcript:
Q) Tell us about the working experience with AR Murugadoss?
A) I was totally excited while working with him. Actually, I have been looking forward to working with him since a long time. Finally, we’ve joined hands for this project and I’m happy to debut in the film Tamil industry with this project.
Q) You shot the film in two languages simultaneously. How difficult was it?
A) Initially, we had thought it will be an easy job, but we understood that it’s the most difficult task. I have to show the difference in dialogue modulation which was an even more challenging task and all this went on smoothly only because of our director Murugadoss.
Q) The teaser showcased a SPYder. Will it be present throughout the film?
A) No, we have shown it just to expose the hero’s characterization. It has nothing to do with the film.
Q) For how many days did you shoot the film?
A) We shot the film for almost 190 days and most of the film was shot during the nights. Murugadoss really worked hard and he always used to bring energy on sets and it helped all the technicians and artistes to give their best.
Q) What do you think are the major highlights of the film?
A) You can see Hollywood-like action episodes along with intense human emotions in the movie. A R Murugadoss’ film will have the right mix of commercial elements with a strong undercurrent social message. This film will also be in the same format. You will experience it while watching the movie.
Q) Tell us about your heroine Rakul Preet Singh?
A) As I’m fluent in both Telugu and Tamil languages, it was a bit easy for me. But in Rakul’s case, she is not that fluent in Tamil, but she really worked hard to deliver Tamil dialogues.
Q) You have worked with Harris Jayraj after a long gap. Tell us about him?
A) His music is like slow poison and all the songs are getting a positive feedback from music listeners. Coming to the background score, he literally stunned everyone with his outstanding work.
Q) Will this bilingual film satisfy both Telugu and Tamil audience?
A) As it has a universal subject, I’m confident that SPYder will be well received by the audiences of both the languages. We shot with different artistes for both the versions.
Q) What did you learn from this film?
A) After shooting for SPYder in both the languages simultaneously, working on Koratala Siva’s project has been quite easy for me (Laughs). Yeah, I’ve learned how to be more patient on sets with this film.
Q) Tell us about your film with Rajamouli?
A) Yeah, we have decided to join hands for a project. As of now, we both are busy with our earlier commitments. Once we are done with them, we will start our project.
