Interview : Ramajogayya Sastry – Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya will be a visual feast for the audience

Sankranthi biggies Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya, starring Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi, clash with each other. Mythri Movie Makers produce both flicks. While Gopichand Malineni directs Veera Simha Reddy, Bobby is helming Waltair Veerayya. The former releases on 12th January, and the latter will release on 13th January. Ahead of the release, we interacted with lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry who penned all songs in Veera Simha Reddy and Neekemo Andham Ekkuva Nakemo Thondarekkuva song in Waltair Veerayya. Here is the transcript.

Can you tell us a few words about Neekemo Andham Ekkuva Nakemo Thondarekkuva song in Waltair Veerayya?

I found the sounding of this song’s lyrics to be funny. I told the same thing to Devi Sri Prasad. He designed a concept based on it and composed a tune for it. The song came out very well.

Which songs from both films would be on the next level?

All the songs in both flicks would be on the next level. Every song will be unique. When it comes to big-ticket films, the makers will provide sufficient time. Moreover, I didn’t write for Akhanda. After Krack, I collaborated with Gopichand Malineni and wrote all the songs in the film. Me, along with Thaman and the team, created fantastic songs.

Will you have pressure when you write a single card?

Whether it is a single card or a single song, the lyricist’s job is to fulfill a director’s vision. There is comfort while writing a single card since we can check the flow of the songs. However, when there is more than one lyricist, the director has to do the coordination job.

Will it be challenging to reach expectations while writing for star heroes?

Every song is challenging. For example, if we are writing a love song, we need to make sure there is something new about it since we would have penned some thousands of love songs. Though I wrote songs for Balayya Garu in the past, it was a challenge for me to write for Veera Simha Reddy.

How are both films going to be?

Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya will be a visual feast for the audience. Also, both films would be good musically. I am very sure that Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya will create some new records.

What are the best compliments you received from Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi?

It will be very exciting to pen songs for Balakrishna Garu and Chiranjeevi Garu. Chiranjeevi Garu praised me after listening to Neekemo Andham Ekkuva Nakemo Thondarekkuva song. Balayya Garu lauded me when I went to Manobaavaalu song sets.

What is that you like to advise young lyricists?

We need to check if we have enough interest and writing ability. A few may have good writing skills, but here it is important to write according to the tune. A few times, it is required to write without a tune. One needs to write in a simple manner. The far most important thing is to have confidence and patience.
