Interview : Sai Dharam Tej – Mega family inspired me to become an actor



Sai Dharam Tej’s debut flick, Rey is finally seeing its release light this Friday. On this occasion, we caught up with Dharam Tej for a detailed interview. Let’s see what he has to say.

Q) How did you bag this film?

I used to play cricket in Manchu Manoj’s office and YVS Chowdary spotted me there. He asked me whether I would do a film with him. I spoke to my family and the project shaped up soon.

Q) Tell us about your character in ‘Rey’ ?

I play a young musician who is brought up in the Caribbean Islands. It is a different kind of a role and the audience will definitely like it.

Q) What kind of homework did you do for this film ?

As I play a Caribbean guy in the film, I worked on my body language and did a lot of research for my role.

Q) How was it working with Y V S Chowdary ?

YVS Chowdary has a lot of patience and will definitely bounce back with this film. I learnt so many things from him during this film which helped me grow as an actor immensely.

Q) Tell us about your lady villain Shraddha Das ?

She has done a wonderful job in the film. Her hard work and dedication towards the craft will take her to new heights in her career. I had a wonderful time working with her and our combination scenes have come out quite well.

Q) What are the major highlights of the film ?

The major highlights of the film are interval block, climax song and Chiru’s Golimar remix number.

Q) What kind of suggestions did you get from your uncles ?

They have always asked me to give my best and leave the rest to the audience.

Q) Who are your favorite actors from the current lot ?

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and Rebel Star Prabhas are my favorite actors.

Q) Tell us about Subramanyam For Sale?

‘Subramanyam For Sale’ has completed 40 % of its shoot and is progressing at a brisk pace.

Q) What are your future projects?

I haven’t signed any film and am currently reading some scripts.
