Balakrishna’s Lion is all set for a massive release tomorrow. One this occasion, we caught up the film’s director for a brief interview. Let’s see what he has to say.
Q) How did you bag this offer ?
I entered the industry in 2002, and worked as an assistant director under Dasari Narayana Rao. From the past few years, I had been in touch with Balayya and one fine day narrated him this script. As Balayya believed in my story completely, he gave me this offer.
Q) What took you so long to direct a film ?
All the stories which I have written were big budget flicks. Even though many producers liked my scripts, they never came forward to offer me a chance.
Q) How was it directing such a huge star ?
Initially, I was a bit tensed to direct him. But as time passed by, Balayya made me feel comfortable and gave me full freedom over the script and his role. He will be seen in two different roles and will entertain the audience big time.
Q) Does your film have a political angle ?
No ! there is absolutely no political angle to the film. Some of the powerful dialogues that you see in the trailers are designed keeping Balayya’s stature in mind.
Q) Reports reveal that this film has gone over budget. What do you have to say ?
No ! our film has not gone over budget. Right from the day one, we were well planned and spent only when and where it was necessary. I need to also thank my producer for providing whatever I wanted for this action entertainer.
Q) What are the major highlights of this flick ?
One of the major highlights of this flick is Balayya himself. Once again, he will be seen in quite a powerful role and provide his trademark entertainment.
