Vishwaksen’s Mechanic Rocky, directed by debutant Ravi Teja Mullapudi, is hitting the big screens this Friday. Meenakshi Chaudhary and Shraddha Srinath are the female leads in this flick produced by Ram Thalluri of SRT Entertainments. The promotional content released to date created a good buzz. Ahead of the release, Vishwaksen interacted with the media, and here is the transcript.
What aspect of Mechanic Rocky’s story impressed you the most?
The film deals with a burning issue which has been in the society for the past four years. You will be surprised while watching it on screen. You would get a feeling as to why others didn’t make a film on this issue. While shooting for Mechanic Rocky, I was worried about whether there would be any film on the same topic. We aren’t giving any message through this film, but there is a takeaway for the audience.
Tell us about the film’s screenplay.
It’s a very entertaining film. There will be a genre shift for the second half. You will experience an adrenaline rush in the latter hour. Ten minutes into the second half, you will have a solid high. You will not even attend a phone call. That’s how strong the film’s content is. We didn’t reveal the story in the trailer. Everyone will connect to the film.
How was it working with first-time director Ravi Teja Mullapudi?
Ravi Teja is a smart director. I firmly believed that only he can do full justice to this story. He handled the movie superbly. After watching the film, the audience will start raving about him and his writing.
Is Mechanic Rocky based on true incidents?
Audience will get to know that after watching the film. They will understand the issue on which the film is based. This isn’t a hero-driven film. Every character has its importance. People will praise the screenplay of Mechanic Rocky. Jakes Bejoy gave wonderful songs and background score.
When did you decide to screen premiere shows?
After watching the double positive, I decided to arrange special premieres. Today, we just decided on the show count for the paid premieres. Mechanic Rocky will be unpredictable. Because of Ram Thalluri Garu’s patience, we got such a good product.
