Alluri Seetarama Raju is Krishna’s 100th film, and the legendary actor played the Indian revolutionary Alluri Seetarama Raju, known for his role in the Manyam Rebellion. The film, directed by V. Ramachandra Rao, was a commercial blockbuster, and Krishna was lauded for his stunning portrayal of the freedom fighter.

Alluri Seetarama Raju was the first cinemascope film in Telugu. G. Hanumanth Rao produced the film under Padmalaya Studios. Vijaya Nirmala played the female lead. Jaggayya, Rajanala, Chandra Mohan, Sridhar, and Kanta Rao essayed vital roles.
