Tamil blockbuster Love Today was remade as Loveyapa in Hindi. Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor played the lead roles in this romantic comedy entertainer. Despite the original being a blockbuster, the Hindi version failed miserably at the box office. Loveyapa marked Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan’s silver screen debut.
In a recent interview, Aamir Khan reacted to Loveyapa’s box office failure. He said, “Accha hua (good that it happened). I think Junaid is doing well and will continue to learn. Junaid is talented, and he immerses himself in the characters he plays. Just like myself, Junaid isn’t a great dancer.”
Aamir opines that Loveyapa’s failure will make his son resilient and motivate him to work even harder. Aamir says that Junaid Khan also finds it difficult to handle interviews, much like he (Aamir) himself struggled during the early stages of his film career.
Junaid Khan will next appear in the film Ek Din, which marks the Bollywood debut of South Indian star heroine Sai Pallavi. On the other hand, Aamir’s next release is Sitaare Zameen Par, which will likely be released in June 2025.
