Acclaimed Bollywood actress evinces interest in Telugu movies

National Award-winning Bollywood actress Vidya Balan made her Tollywood debut with NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu, Balakrishna’s two-part biopic on his father and legendary actor NT Ramarao. Vidya portrayed NT Ramarao’s wife Basavatarakam in this Krish directorial. However, both NTR 1 and 2 ended up being average grossers at the box office, and Vidya never acted in another Telugu movie.

Vidya, along with her co-star Kartik Aryan, landed in Hyderabad yesterday to promote her upcoming Hindi horror comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Both Vidya and Kartik took part in the inaugural ceremony of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 11 at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. Interaction with the media on the sidelines of the event, Vidya expressed her wish to act in a straight Telugu movie. “I acted in NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu. I am keen to act in more Telugu movies if I get the right script,” said Vidya.

Vidya will be seen in the iconic Manjulika character in Bhool Bhoolaiya 3. The film also stars Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri in key roles. The Aneez Bazmee directorial is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Murad Khetani and is gearing up for its theatrical release on November 1.
