Maverick Kollywood director Shankar’s daughter Aditi Shankar’s recently released Tamil Pongal entertainer, Nesippaya, has been dubbed in Telugu as Premistava. The Telugu version had its theatrical release in cinemas across the twin Telugu states today.

Interacting with the media during Premistava’s promotions in Hyderabad, Aditi, a medico, opened up about the condition her father, Shankar, had imposed to give his approval for her acting debut. “I had told my father that I would try acting after completing my studies. He pondered over it for a long time and finally gave his permission but with a condition. He told me that I will have to return to medicine if I don’t succeed in movies,” said the 27-year-old actress.

Premistava is directed by Panjaa fame Vishuvardhan. The film also features Akash Murali in a lead role. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the film’s music composer. Mythri Movie Makers is distributing the film in Telugu.
