Tollywood star Vijay Deverakonda is currently working on the pan-India action drama, Kingdom. The Gowtam Tinnanuri directorial has been making a lot of noise ever since the intense and action-packed teaser was unveiled a few weeks ago.
In a latest interview, Kingdom’s producer Naga Vamsi revealed that Vijay Deverakonda has only taken a token amount as his remuneration for Kingdom and that he will be taking a cut once the film recovers its budget and makes profits upon its theatrical release. “That way, we can invest more money to make the film on a grand scale,” said the producer.
It’s worth mentioning that Vijay had done the same during the making of Liger. Vijay had returned a huge part of his remuneration when Liger’s director-producer Puri Jagannadh was struggling to pool in the budget ahead of a key schedule.
Kingdom has young beauty Bhagyashri Borse playing the female lead. The film has a soundtrack composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Sai Soujanya is jointly bankrolling the project, which is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on May 30, 2025.
