Generally, Telugu films arrive in the digital space within a month after their theatrical release. In some rare cases, the producers will extend the theatrical window beyond one month if the movie’s theatrical performance exceeds expectations (Example: HanuMan). But Akhil Akkineni’s Agent tells a different story. It’s been more than a year since the film arrived in theatres, but the action thriller directed by Surender Reddy is yet to have its digital premiere.
The television premiere of Agent’s Hindi version is around the corner, and we reported about it a few days back. According to a few reports, the OTT release of Agent will happen either during mid-July or at the end of the month. There have been many such reports for the past few months, but sadly, none turned out to be true. Sony Liv has the post-theatrical streaming rights of this biggie.
Ramabrahmam produced Agent, and the movie marked the Tollywood debut of Sakshi Vaidya, a renowned model. Malayalam Megastar Mammootty played a crucial role. Dino Morea essayed the antagonist, while Bollywood beauty Urvashi Rautela sizzled in a special song. Vakkantham Vamsi penned the story for this stylish actioner, and Hip Hop Tamizha composed the tunes. Let’s see whether or not the prayers of Akkineni fans will be answered.
