Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya as the protagonist, is hitting the big screens next week. The film, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, stars Sai Pallavi as the female lead. Thandel marks the second collaboration between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. Today, the makers promoted the film in Mumbai, with Aamir Khan launching the Hindi trailer.

At the event, the film’s presenter, Allu Aravind, said, “Thandel is based on real-life incidents that happened to fishermen hailing from a small village near Vizag. They went to Gujarat to earn more bucks. Unfortunately, they crossed the Indian waters due to weather issues, and suddenly, they realized they were in Pakistan. The Pakistani navy took them into custody, and the fishermen nearly spent two years in Karachi jail.”

Allu Aravind added, “The families of fishermen suffered the most. How hard the families fought to bring them back to India and what challenges the fishermen faced in Pakistan form the crux of the story.”
