Allu Arjun’s Arya completed 20 glorious years, and on this special occasion, the team held a special event in Hyderabad. During the event, Allu Arjun said, “During those days, if a film runs for 10 weeks, it is considered an average grosser. Sukumar Garu and I went to the first show on the release day. The theatre was 40% full, but we were confident that the movie would slowly pick up. Once the show was completed, the reports stated that it was a 10-week film. I was completely disappointed.”
Allu Arjun added, “Allu Arvind Garu said that a 10-week run isn’t a small achievement as most of the cast and crew were newbies. I was very much upset. I told
my father that Arya would run for 125 days, and my words came true. I received the shield from Chiranjeevi Garu. The film is a game changer in Tollywood. It made Dil Raju Garu a star producer. Sukumar Garu is one of the biggest pillars of my life. Though Gangotri became a hit, I couldn’t leave a mark. It was through Arya I came into the limelight. Devi Sri Prasad escalated the film to another level. His songs gave a fresh vibe to Arya.”
Allu Arjun continued, “Now Sukumar Garu is on the top of the game. He is on the way to becoming the no.1 director in India. Dil Raju is bankrolling the biggest films in the country. DSP is giving albums that are garnering billions of views. Rathnavelu Garu is working on huge projects. Without Sukumar Garu, none of this would have been possible. I am grateful to the entire team. Chiranjeevi Garu gave us moral support, and I am always grateful to him. I wholeheartedly thank the audience for making Arya a special film in my career.”
