Allu Aravind answers why Thandel isn’t releasing for Sankranthi

The suspense surrounding Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Thandel has finally come to an end, with the makers now announcing the release date. A few media reports claimed that Thandel would come for Sankranthi 2025, but the movie is now slated for release on February 7. The makers announced the release date in a huge manner.

Thandel’s presenter, Allu Aravind, revealed why Thandel isn’t releasing for Sankranthi. The ace producer said, “There will be many releases for Sankranthi, and we won’t be able to get a big release during competition. We need to share the theatres. The first weekend and first-week collections are very important. If it is a super hit, the second week is also important.

The producer stated that their team always wanted a solo release with no opposition. We want undivided attention on our film and promotional material.” Allu Aravind added, “If we consider Maha Shivaratri, the festival is on February 28. March is an examination season, and it is not right to release films. At the end of the month, people will barely be left with their salaries, and it is not possible to get a good opening too.”

The senior producer added, “I don’t know why the media themselves decided the release date as Sankranthi and found happiness in it. We never considered Sankranthi. We had December 20 on our minds.” Director Chandoo Mondeti said, “Allu Aravind Garu decides the release date after considering all permutations and combinations. Believe me, Thandel will see the best revenues. I am assuring that.”
