Mega blockbuster Pushpa 2, headlined by Allu Arjun, is now creating havoc on Netflix with staggering viewership. The majority of the audience loved the sequel, but one aspect that disappointed many was the limited screen time for Sunil and Anasuya. Managalam Sreenu and Dakshayani characters were compelling in the first part, but many opined they were reduced to mere spectators in the second part.
In a recent interview, Anasuya spoke about the same. She said, “Even when Pushpa: The Rise was released, people told me they wished to see more of my character. Now, they are saying that my role in Pushpa 1 is more significant than Pushpa 2. If the audience are disappointed about my limited screen time, I am happy about it. That’s actually a compliment.”
Anasuya Bharadwaj added, “A film is a director’s dream. When Sukumar Garu approached me for Dakshayani role, he clearly told me that it wouldn’t be like Rangamathha role in Rangasthalam. Managalam Sreenu’s character has a wife, and Sukumar Garu wanted someone prominent to play it. Sir made it clear that there wouldn’t be anything great in the role.”
“Sukku sir is like a guru to me, and I will trust him blindly. Rangamathha is close to my heart, and I will forever be grateful to Sukumar Garu. Regarding the screen time, all I can say is sorry. That’s something which is not in my hands,” noted Anasuya.
