Animal’s disappointing pre-sales in this state leave the trade puzzled

Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor’s highly-anticipated pan-India action drama, Animal, is gearing up for its world theatrical release in a few hours. The film’s Hindi version has been registering pretty good pre-sales in several regions across the country.

However, contrary to the Hindi version, Animal’s Malayalam version’s advance bookings in Kerala have been highly disappointing and trade analysts are clueless about the film’s underperformance. Along with Animal, 12 other Malayalam movies, featuring some well-known stars, are also hitting theaters across Kerala tomorrow, and this seems to have dented Animal’s pre-sales to a huge extent.

Adding to the intense competition, Animal’s excessive run-time of 3 hours and 21 minutes, and Ranbir Kapoor’s minimal fanbase are said to be the other significant factors that have impacted the film’s openings in Kerala. The trade is pinning high hopes on Animal’s positive response once the first day first shows begin early in the morning.

Animal also features Bollywood stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and young actress Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Pranay Vanga. Stay tuned to 123telugu.com for Animal’s FDFS live updates and the review, which will be out shortly.
