The separation of Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu has come across as a huge shock to millions of fans. The much-loved couple mutually decided to end their 29 years of marriage due to irreconcilable differences. Yesterday, Saira Banu’s lawyer, Vandana Shah, issued a statement, confirming the separation.

And AR Rahman took to X last night and penned a painful tweet about his separation from his wife, Saira Banu. “We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. In her yesterday’s statement, Saira Banu’s lawyer, Vandana Shah, said that the separation comes after significant emotional strain in Rahman and Saira Banu’s relationship. “Mrs. Saira emphasized that she has taken this decision out of pain and agony,” read the statement.
