By now, it is well known that Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honored with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, a few days ago.
For the first time, Balakrishna has responded to the recognition. Speaking at the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital event, he addressed the honor and expressed his gratitude to the Indian government.
However, he also mentioned that he received the award quite late in his career and says. “Everything has its time. I never worked toward this honor, but it came to me after completing 50 years in the industry”.
He also added “My father, NTR’s 100th birthday was celebrated just a few weeks ago, and my last four films have been hits. So, this honor came at the perfect time when I am at an all-time high and also serving as a three-time MLA in Andhra,”.
Additionally, Balakrishna has been actively helping the underprivileged through his cancer hospital in Hyderabad, which is one of the reasons he was selected for the award.
