Big blow to Jani Master: Govt. of India revokes his National Award

Tainted Tollywood choreographer Jani Master, who was recently booked in a POCSO case for allegedly sexually assaulting his assistant choreographer, has received a huge blow. The government of India has revoked Jani’s National Award for Best Choreography for the Tamil movie Thiruchitrambalam, featuring Dhanush, Nithya Menen, and Raashi Khanna. The National Awards presentation ceremony will be held on October 8 in New Delhi.

It’s well known that a young woman had filed a sexual assault case against Jani Master with the Narsingi Police in September. Soon after the news broke, Jani went underground, and the cops arrested him in Goa and produced him before a local court. He was initially sent to a 14-day remand, which expired on October 3.

A couple of days ago, Jani alias Shaik Jani Basha managed to secure an interim bail to attend the 70th National Awards presentation ceremony and receive his award. The Rangareddy court issued bail to Jani on the submission of sureties of Rs`2 lakh each. Jani was granted bail from October 6 till 10.30 am on October 10. However, with Jani’s National Award being revoked, his interim bail too may get cancelled by the court.
