With just 5 days remaining for the grand release of NTR’s highly anticipated pan-India action drama, Devara, all eyes were on the film’s pre-release event this evening in Hyderabad. This much-awaited event was supposed to be held at the Novotel Hotel. However, in an unexpected development, the Devara pre-release event has been cancelled.
Fans from across the twin Telugu states and various parts of the country thronged the star hotel in huge numbers, with a hope to catch a few glimpses of NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and the film’s cast and crew members. When the hotel authorities denied entry to many fans due to the unavailability of space, the overenthusiastic fans created a huge ruckus and even partially damaged the property.
Even though cops were called in, the event had to be cancelled eventually after the situation turned out of control. Whether or not the makers would organize the event at a different venue or Devara will hit theaters without a pre-release event remains to be seen.
Also starring Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan in a crucial role, Devara is directed by Koratala Siva and produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Mikkilineni Sudhakar, and Kosaraju Hari Krishna. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the soundtrack. The film is slated for release on September 27.
