The fourth phase of the general elections has come to an end, and now the Telugu audiences want to get back to the theatres and enjoy movies. But sadly, there are no noted releases this weekend, and this has disappointed movie-buffs extremely. Not just this week, but the whole summer season has been wasted with no major releases adding to the woes. Something of this sort has not happened in a very long time.
This Friday, Shankar’s magical blockbuster Aparichithudu (Telugu version of Anniyan) is re-releasing in a big way. This is the film that brought an immense fanbase to Vikram in Telugu states. Shankar’s terrific direction, along with Vikram’s award-winning performance, made this psychological action thriller a cult classic. The re-watch value this film holds is tremendous and hence a few opine that Aparichithudu can bring back crowds to the cinema halls.
Shankar enjoys a solid following among Telugu audiences and his fans are very much thrilled to experience this crazy entertainer once again on the big screens. The majority of the single screens in Telangana will be temporarily shut down due to low occupancies. If Aparichithudu can attract audiences and generate fair footfalls in AP and multiplexes of Telangana, it will give a ray of hope to the exhibition sector. Let’s see if that happens.
Sadaa played the leading lady. The movie also features Prakash Raj, Vivek, Nassar, Cochin Haneefa, and Nedumudi Venu in pivotal roles. V. Ravichandran bankrolled Aparichithudu under the banner of Aascar Films. Harris Jayaraj composed the tunes.
