The makers of Rajinikanth’s Coolie shocked one and all by announcing the release date as August 14, 2025. The action drama directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj will have a direct clash with Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2. The social media is divided, with some opining that Coolie will lead the race, while some others think that War 2 will have the upper hand.
Lokesh’s films usually have one sequence that highlights food. The biryani reference scenes in Kaithi and Vikram are very popular, and the latest update reveals that Coolie will also have one such episode. The same has been confirmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj himself in a recent interaction with the media. Lokesh further stated that Coolie doesn’t have any recreation of Rajini’s old scenes.
However, Lokesh Kanagaraj confirmed that Coolie will showcase vintage Superstar. Tollywood King Nagarjuna plays a pivotal role, while Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan plays a cameo. Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Soubin Shahir are playing other supporting roles. Sun Pictures is bankrolling this flick. Anirudh is the music composer.
