Ajay Devgn’s new film Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha (AMKDT) had zero buzz from the very beginning. The movie was supposed to come last month, but it was postponed to August at the final minute. Despite the postponement, the Neeraj Pandey directorial suffered to gain the audience’s attention.
Trade experts predicted a low opening, but the occupancies on the first day have sent shock waves across the industry. As per the estimates, Ajay Devgn’s film garnered around 2 crore nett, which is the lowest start for a Hindi star hero in the last 14 years. The opening is lower than Akshay Kumar’s Selfiee and Sarfira, which tells the kind of response Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has received.
To make things worse, the film got terrible reviews from critics, and word of mouth is no different. Many are criticizing AMKDT as an outdated romantic drama. On day one, several shows were canceled due to low turnout.
Looking at the current trend, the movie will be removed from theatres after the weekend and is set to emerge as one of the biggest disasters of Hindi cinema. Tabu, Saiee Manjrekar, and Shatanu Maheswari played crucial roles.
