Vassishta Mallidi, who made a nice debut as a director with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara, is currently helming the much-anticipated socio-fantasy film Vishwambhara, starring Megastar Chiranjeevi. The first song from the film, Rama Raama, was recently released and received an encouraging response from audiences.
But here’s something not many know – before stepping behind the camera, Vassishta once stepped in front of it as a lead actor! Yes, the Vishwambhara director actually acted in a film as the hero, opposite Game Changer actress Anjali.
The film was titled Premalekha Raasa, and he was introduced as Venkat Mallidi. It also marked the directorial debut of the late lyricist Kulashekar. Though the audio launch event was held, the movie never made it to theaters. However, it later premiered on Gemini TV.
