Young hero Kiran Abbavaram is gearing up for his next release. Titled Dilruba, the youthful romantic entertainer is slated for release on March 14 as a Holi festive treat. Also starring Rukshar Dhillon in a lead role, the film is directed by debutant Viswa Karun.
In a latest interview, director Viswa Karun opened up about his journey in Tollywood and making Dilruba. Hailing from Tadepalligudem, Viswa Karun developed a keen interest in filmmaking at a young age and moved to Hyderabad to work on a film titled Naladamayanthi. Unfortunately, the film, which was supposed to star Sree Vishnu in a lead role, never saw the light of day. Viswa Karun went on to collaborate with Baahubali and RRR writer V Vijayendra Prasad and Dil Raju.
Talking about Dilruba, Viswa Karun described the movie as a unique and fresh love story. “I want to clarify that Dilruba has no similarities with the recently released movie, Dragon. Dilruba offers a unique take on love. In Dilruba, the character of Sidhu, played by Kiran, doesn’t compromise on his beliefs and often lands in trouble as he chooses to remain true to his personality,” said the debutant.
Elaborating further, Viswa Karun said, “After breaking up with a girl, Sidhu treats his ex as an enemy. But even after a breakup, there’s nothing wrong in reaching out to your ex to check if she is doing okay. This is one of the elements we explored in Dilruba,” he concluded.
Dilruba is produced by Ravi, Jojo Jose, and Rakesh Reddy under the Sivam Celluloids, Saregama, and Yoodle Films banners. Khaidi and Pushpa 2 fame Sam CS has composed the music for Dilruba.
