Mohanlal’s Empuraan is going bonkers at the box office despite mixed reviews and controversial scenes. The action thriller directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran is made on a mammoth budget, and the film opened to earth-shattering numbers worldwide. This Mohanlal starrer has now unlocked a key milestone.
Empuraan breached Rs. 200 crore gross at the global box office, and it is the second film from Mollywood to have achieved this feat after Manjummel Boys. The holiday season ends today, and it will be interesting to see how Empuraan fares from tomorrow.
Empuraan also stars Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajit Sukumaran, Jerome Flynn, and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles. The biggie was jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Subaskaran Allirajah, and Gokulam Gopalan through Aashirvad Cinemas, Lyca Productions, and Sree Gokulam Movies. Deepak Dev composed the tunes.
