Excellent: Kalki 2898 AD and 35-Chinna Katha Kaadu to premiere at IFFI 2024

The Indian Panorama, a premier segment of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), has unveiled its selection for the 55th edition, showcasing 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films. This carefully curated collection, which includes five mainstream cinema titles, was drawn from an impressive pool of 384 contemporary Indian films.

Among the distinguished selections, two Telugu films have earned the opportunity to be screened: the blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin, and 35-Chinna Katha Kaadu, featuring Nivetha Thomas and directed by Nanda Kishore Emani.

The films featured at the festival were chosen by a 12-member jury. However, it’s worth noting that there is no representation from Tollywood on the jury, which casts a shadow over the otherwise celebratory news.

The jury has also selected Swatantrya Veer Savarkar (Hindi), directed by Randeep Hooda, as the opening film for the Indian Panorama 2024. Other notable films in the lineup include Article 370, Bramayugam, Level Cross, 12th Fail, and Manjummel Boys.

Organised by the National Film Development Corporation, in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Government of Goa, IFFI will take place from November 20 to 28, 2024, in Panaji, Goa, promising a celebration of Indian cinema that audiences won’t want to miss.
