Senior cinematographer Chota K Naidu’s latest interview with a YouTube channel has become a hot topic on social media. In the interview, Chota alleged that director Harish Shankar had interfered with his work too much and curtailed his creative freedom during the making of their 2013 film, Ramayya Vasthavayya, starring NTR, Samantha, and Shruti Haasan in lead roles.
In his response, Harish Shankar took to his X account this evening and refuted Chota’s allegations in a lengthy post. Harish told Chota that Ramayya Vasthavayya released more than 10 years ago, and while he might have given at least 100 interviews, Chota might have given about 10 interviews since then. “Over the years, I kept aside the differences and never made any disrespectful comments against you, but you never left any opportunity to humiliate me on public platforms,” Harish rued.
Harish reminded Chota how he was irked with his behavior during Ramayya Vasthavayya’s shoot but continued working with him even though there were suggestions to replace him from Ramayya Vasthavayya. “I have been silent all these years, but I am finally responding since you are constantly attacking my self-respect. I had learned something from your vast experience. I still have respect for you. I request that you please cherish that respect. But if you want to continue mudslinging, I’m game for it,” Harish tweeted.
