Hyderabad police have registered an FIR against 25 celebrities and social media influencers for allegedly endorsing illegal betting apps. The complainant stated that the celebrities influenced people to invest their hard-earned money in these betting apps, leading to financial collapse.
The FIR also listed the name of budding actress Ananya Nagalla. The actress has now reacted strongly to the controversy. On her Instagram story, she wrote, “But just wanted to know if a government property (referring to Hyderabad metro) is promoting apps like this, how do we know that it is illegal to promote them?”
Some netizens have come in support of Ananya Nagalla, while some say the measures being taken by Hyderabad police regarding the illegal betting apps are the need of the hour. We need to see how this issue will end.
