Impressive: Tumbbad re-release collections soar to Rs. 7.34 crore

Some movies age like fine wine, gaining a devoted cult following over time. One such film is Tumbbad. Initially released in 2018, it had a modest fan base, but over the years, its popularity has surged. The film’s recent re-release on September 13, 2024, has turned this growing fan base into impressive box office collections.

In its first weekend since the re-release, Tumbbad has seen a remarkable increase in earnings, proving its enduring cult status. Over three days, the film raked in a substantial Rs. 7.34 crore nett, with Rs. 3.04 crores nett coming in on Sunday alone. This marks a more than 125% increase compared to its initial release’s first weekend collections.

The film’s Monday earnings are also anticipated to be good. Tumbbad, featuring Sohum Shah in the lead role, was directed by Rahi Anil Barve, with an enthralling score by Jesper Kyd. The film’s impressive performance underscores its lasting appeal and growing fanbase. The makers have officially announced that Tumbbad 2 will be released soon.
