Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi masterpiece Interstellar has made history by becoming the first film to be re-released within a short span in India. The Hollywood blockbuster returned to Indian theaters on February 7, 2025, for a week-long run, drawing an impressive audience.
Now, to mark its 10th anniversary once again, Interstellar is set for another re-release in India on March 14, 2025. The first re-release grossed Rs. 15 crore nationwide, with Hyderabad’s PCX at Prasads Multiplex contributing a remarkable Rs. 69 lakh – an exceptional feat for a Hollywood re-release.
With 23,435 people experiencing the film on the big screen during its initial re-release on PCX, expectations are soaring for yet another record turnout. Despite PCX not offering the IMAX format, movie lovers continue to flock to watch it in all its cinematic glory. So far, around 4,000 tickets have already been sold for the screenings scheduled between March 14-20, 2025. With ticket sales steadily rising, the nationwide collections are also expected to surpass the previous re-release.
Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine, Interstellar is elevated by Hans Zimmer’s mesmerizing score, adding to its timeless appeal.
