Young hero Kiran Abbavaram is gearing up to entertain audiences with Dilruba. The movie is slated for a grand theatrical release on March 14, 2025. We met him for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.
How confident are you about Dilruba?
We watched the final copy yesterday, and we are very confident. The songs, teaser, and trailer received a great response. It’s an engaging film that respects women, with no dull moments in its 2-hour 20-minute runtime.
How does the film portray respect for women?
It’s not just about strong female characters but also how the hero supports and treats them. The movie carries a meaningful message. Though a small portion may feel familiar, most of the film follows a new-age commercial format, ensuring an engaging experience.
Why reveal the story instead of keeping it under wraps?
We didn’t want unrealistic expectations. The film has magical love moments, and we believe audiences will connect naturally.
How does the film handle ex-lovers differently?
Instead of conflict, the protagonist maintains a healthy friendship with his exes and supports them, offering a fresh take.
What are the challenges in promoting Telugu films in Tamil Nadu?
Tamil films get heavy promotion in our industry, but Telugu films don’t get the same support there. More collaboration is needed.
How do you plan to maintain your image after KA’s success?
KA changed how audiences see me, and I will continue delivering quality films while maintaining their trust.
Why plan for three films a year?
I want to work continuously and offer different experiences. From next year, I aim for at least three releases annually.
What are your upcoming projects?
I’m working on a cult love story, a youth entertainer, a family drama, and a three-part vast historical story based on Lanke Bindelu.
