IPL 2024 has ended in a disappointing manner with a one-sided final match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sun Risers Hyderabad. KKR bowlers were at the top of their game by not letting SRH batters score runs. They kept taking wickets at regular intervals and restricted SRH to 113 (all out), which is the lowest-ever total in an IPL final.
SRH batters who created new records this season have failed to perform in the most important final and succumbed to the pressure. With the kind of havoc SRH batters wreaked this season, fans expected the final to go down to the wire, but that didn’t happen, sadly. Shreyas Iyer-led KKR team silenced Pat Cummins and his team at Chepauk Stadium and clinched their third IPL trophy.
The chase was a walk in the park for KKR batters, as they chased the target within 10.3 overs by just losing two wickets. KKR is the third team after Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians to win three IPL trophies. The KKR team has been to the finals four times out of which they lost only once.
On the other hand, the SRH team lost their second consecutive IPL final, and this is undoubtedly a heartbreaking moment for the franchise fans. Back in 2018, the Dhoni-led CSK team won over SRH in the finals.
After 66 days of king-size entertainment, the final match ended in a simple manner without providing any thrills. KKR owner and Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan graced the finale with his family, and he will now be the happiest man on the planet.
