Jailer actor Vinayakan booked by cops at Hyderabad airport

Popular Malayalam actor Vinayakan, better known across South India for his idol smuggler role in Rajinikanth’s Jailer, has been arrested by the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police in Hyderabad on Saturday evening. According to the reports, Vinayakan, who was in an inebriated condition, behaved rudely with an airline staff at the airport.

Vinayakan was flying from Kochi to Goa via Hyderabad and allegedly argued and behaved rudely with the gate staff of an airline. The actor was handed over to the CISF by the airline staff. Later, the RGI police filed a case after receiving a complaint from the CISF. Vinayakan was charged with bailable sections, including misconduct in public under the influence of alcohol and causing public nuisance.

Interacting with the media, Vinayakan alleged that the CISF personnel escorted him to a room in the airport and assaulted him. “I don’t understand why I’m being taken into custody. I have not done anything wrong. The authorities can check the CCTV visuals for evidence,” he added.

In October 2023, Vinayakan was arrested by the Ernakulam Town North police for creating ruckus at the police station following a family dispute. He was later released on bail after a medical examination. Vinayakan is acclaimed for his performances in movies such as Fahadh Faasil’s Trance, Dulquer Salmaan’s Kammattipaadam, and Dhanush’s Maryan.
