Jana Nayagan vs. Parasakthi: Doesn’t Vijay’s last film deserve a solo release?

Thalapathy Vijay’s 69th film, Jana Nayagan, marks his final project before fully stepping into politics. The makers have officially announced that the film will hit theaters for Pongal 2026 (January 9, 2026), setting the stage for a grand celebration among fans.

Alongside this H. Vinoth directorial, another major release has been confirmed for the festive season. Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, is also set for a Sankranti 2026 release, as announced by producer Aakash Baskaran on social media.

Interestingly, both films are expected to have political undertones. This sets up an exciting box office clash between two actors who previously shared the screen in The Greatest of All Time. The showdown between Jana Nayagan and Parasakthi has already sparked discussions in Kollywood.

While some believe Jana Nayagan deserves a solo release as a fitting farewell to Vijay’s film career, others see the competition as purely on-screen, with no impact on the actors’ off-screen camaraderie.

With fans eagerly anticipating both films, it remains to be seen how this much-talked-about clash unfolds at the box office.
