Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming movie, Homebound, has been selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The 78th edition of the festival will be held from May 13 to May 24, 2025. Janhvi took to Instagram on Friday to inform her fans about this special honor.
Homebound is directed by Hyderabad-origin Neeraj Ghaywan, who earlier directed the critically acclaimed Masaan, featuring Vicky Kaushal, Richa Chadda, Shweta Tripathi, and Sanjay Mishra in lead roles. Masaan had won the coveted FIPRESCI and Prix de l’Avenir at the Cannes Film Festival 2015.
Homebound also features Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa in lead roles. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, with co-producers Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier. Homebound will be competing with Hollywood giants Wes Anderson and Ari Aster. Incidentally, Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson’s Eleanor The Great, too, will be in competition with Homebound for the top prize.
