Kanguva, starring Suriya in the lead role, hit the screens on November 14. Before the release, the makers stated that Kanguva would be the first Rs. 1000 crore grosser for Kollywood. However, the Siruthai Siva’s directorial received negative reviews and word of mouth, resulting in a below-par opening weekend at the box office.
Given its massive budget and huge theatrical rights, Kanguva underperformed significantly. The latest update is that makers trimmed the runtime by 12 minutes. Initially, the movie was 154 minutes long (2 hours and 34 minutes), and now, after the recensor, it is 142 minutes (2 hours and 22 minutes) long.
It is said that the scenes set in 2024 against the Goa backdrop have been significantly shortened. Will this have any effect on the film’s box office performance in the coming days?
